Akento Cosmetics Anti-Stretch Mark Cream: what it is and how it works
I think its name does not give much to conjecture, but it must be explained that it is a cream for both prevention and correction of stretch marks. Not all creams can say the same, so I think it’s really convenient.
The benefits it brings us:
- Increase the production of collagen and elastin in the epidermis.
- Increase the strength and elasticity of the skin.
- Decrease the appearance (color and depth) of existing stretch marks.
- Effectively prevent the development of these skin marks.
What makes this anti-stretch mark cream so interesting to use is that it is a product with natural ingredients and completely safe to use, even during pregnancy and lactation.
Experts in skin care before, during and after pregnancy, Akento Cosmetics is undoubtedly one of the best brands on the market when it comes to specific treatments, and it shows with this cream.
Ingredients
The most important of any cream are its ingredients, and I can say that Akento’s are the most effective in solving the problem at hand. First we are going to look at the INCI, and then I am going to explain the most interesting ingredients.
INCI: Aqua, Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Sterate Citrate, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Cetyl Palmitate, Propanediol, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Methylsilanol Hydroxyproline Aspartate, Croton Lechleri Resinum Gum, Acantotonum Glycolum Powder, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Hectorite, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol.
To fight stretch marks, it mainly uses two active ingredients: Methylsilanol Hydroxyproline Aspartate and Croton Lechleri resin. The names couldn’t be weirder, but their properties are invaluable for skin with stretch marks.
Methylsilanol Hydroxyproline Aspartate, known as Hydroxyprolisilane N , is a successful mixture of silicon and the amino acid proline. I am not going to go into complicated descriptions of what each one contributes, but what you should know is that the synergy of these two compounds helps to stimulate collagen production, and to increase cell regeneration, making the healing process improve.
Croton Lechleri resin, better known as Dragon Blood , supports this regeneration by regulating the genes involved in the regeneration and aging processes of the skin.
For prevention purposes, it contains a combination of glycerin, coconut triglycerides and sunflower oil, which increase the nutrition and moisture of the skin so that it is more elastic and is less prone to tearing and scarring.
There are no ingredients harmful to the skin, it has no parabens, and its preservatives are really low.
Texture and aroma
The cream is rich and pleasant, although it is not too thick, so it can be spread evenly over the skin.
It is pale pink in color, and its floral and fruity aroma does not spoil. I think it does not have to represent any problem for the smell of pregnant women.
App
It should be applied a couple of times a day, morning and evening, preferably on clean, dry and exfoliated skin. The most recommended application is with a massage with gentle and circular movements, until you see that it is absorbed into the skin.
For what type of skin is it indicated?
For all skin types, especially those that suffer from stretch marks, both recent and old, or that in the near future will stretch considerably.
Designed to help the skin by providing nutrition, hydration and stimulating the production of elastic tissue; it is ideal for your body, whether you are pregnant or not.
Packaging and price
The cream is presented in a 200 ml plastic tube, and is priced at € 21.90. Everything will depend on how large the area to be treated is, but the tube lasts a long time, so it is very well priced.
Does it really work?
The million dollar question. In my experience, yes. I have been using the cream for 7 weeks, as indicated by the brand, through a couple of daily applications. In addition, in the face of the bikini operation I have also taken care of my diet, and I have walked more than usual.
It’s not that diet and exercise play a big role once you already have stretch marks, but I think everything counts in their fight. Anyway, the cream is what has helped me the most to reduce the visibility of my stretch marks.
I have a bit of everything, both whitish stretch marks from previous deliveries, and redder stretch marks from my weight fluctuations. And I couldn’t be happier with this cream. The newest ones, the reddish ones (and the ones that are most visible to me) have shrunk in a short time. They are not even the shadow of what they were, and I think that if you continue using the cream, they may disappear.
The old ones are the ones that have taken the longest to produce results, but I think they are also remitting. Since using the cream I have not noticed new stretch marks, but it is also true that I have not changed much in weight.
What I also notice is that my skin is much more hydrated, smooth and elastic. So even if you don’t have stretch marks, it could also help hydrate and keep your skin healthy.
Would you recommend it? Of course; I think that although not all skin reacts the same, it can do a lot of good to many people who suffer from stretch marks. And if it doesn’t work as well for you, you can always use it to hydrate. Evil is not going to come to you.
