Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, the first ingredient on the list (after water), is a surfactant (cleanser) that is considered mild, but is likely to cause major problems (such as cancer) with continued use, and even more so when found in so high concentration. Luckily, it doesn’t stay on the skin, but it clears up quickly.

Still, it is a controversial ingredient that we would do well to avoid, and of course its use should be limited and not continued.

There are other surfactants more, specifically 4 more. While one is mild and does not produce any irritation, another is classified as irritating to the skin and eyes, so we may have more problems on account of these compounds. Below are two other mild surfactants that gently clean without causing irritation.
