We are going to analyze another anti-aging cream from the Biotherm brand, this time a product designed to combat premature aging, protecting the skin from external aggressions and oxidation.
As always, I will explain each ingredient to see what its function is, and at the end I make a brief summary explaining what things I like and what I don’t.
Then I recommend reading this other article with an Analysis of the Best Anti-wrinkle and Anti-Aging Creams for Men . After analyzing the creams, I explain what the differences are between men’s and women’s skin, how to read an INCI, and much more.

- Dimethicone : Tested in Shiseido Men’s Anti-Wrinkle Cream .
- Octyldodecanol : Analyzed in Vichy Homme LiftActiv cream .
- Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract : Analyzed in Clarins Multi-Intensive contour .
- Astaxanthin : More prevalent in nutritional supplements than in skin care, astaxanthin is believed to produce a number of actions in the body, providing both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory protection. Astaxanthin is mainly extracted from the marine microalgae Hematococcus pluvialis, the richest known source of this natural pigment. By penetrating the skin and protecting each dermal layer from Reactive Oxygen Species-related damage, astaxanthin helps reduce moisture loss, promote smoothness, and generate cell renewal. Analysis has shown that it is also an efficient UV absorber.
- Dimethiconol : Analyzed in the anti-wrinkle cream Vita Lift 5 from L’Oreal Men Expert .
- Haematococcus Pluvialis : Same as the ingredient Astaxanthin, discussed above.
- Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract : Analyzed in Decléor’s Harmonie Calm contour .
- Adenosine : Analyzed in the Génifique Yeux Light Pearl contour from Lancome .
- Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) : Skin conditioning agent and is useful in controlling the viscosity of a product in general. Because it is a seaweed extract it is packed with vitamins and minerals that are vital for maintaining healthy skin. Perhaps the most interesting property of Chondrus Crispus is its ability to protect against UV rays. It is considered low risk to the body as mild irritation may occur when applied to the eye area.
- Carnosine: It acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. It works as an antioxidant by neutralizing free radicals responsible for attacking our DNA cells. It helps remove toxins from the body, has immune-stimulating properties, and has been shown to reduce and prevent cell damage caused by beta amyloid (the substance found in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients). Most interestingly, many claim that it can extend the Hayflick Limit (skin cells can only reproduce about 52 times until they “die”). Carnosine expands its reproductive capacity to just over 60 times, making it a true anti-aging agent). Recent studies suggest that this ingredient can also act as an anti-glycation molecule (glycation is considered one of the main causes of aging). Because the body contains it naturally and humans have always consumed foods that contain this ingredient, it is considered safe. However, it is worth mentioning that the body contains a group of enzymes, carnosinases, specifically designed to break down carnosine. The reason for the presence of these enzymes is unknown, but there is a possibility that they help protect against some unknown side effects of carnosine. it is considered safe. - Disodium EDTA : Tested in Clarins Men’s Anti-Wrinkle Cream for Men .
- Spirulina Platensis Extract: This microalgae has been shown to offer high protection against free radicals, according to a research study from the University of Havana. The study found that algae’s high vitamin E and carotene content can boost the immune system and help prevent cancer and premature skin aging. One of the first “superfoods,” spirulina provides vitamins, many minerals, essential amino acids, carbohydrates, and enzymes. Its outstanding nutritional profile also includes essential fatty acids, GLA fatty acid, lipids, nucleic acids (RNA and DNA), B complex, vitamins C and E, and phytochemicals, such as carotenoids, chlorophyll (purifier of blood) and phycocyanin (a blue pigment), which is a protein known to inhibit cancer.

Biotherm Homme Age Fitness Advanced analysis summary
Although the list begins with an alcohol and a silicone, it then improves with the inclusion of a wide variety of active ingredients, mainly antioxidants, soothing agents, and some sunscreen.
These might be higher on the list, but the top half of the list has its fair share of good ingredients.
At the bottom they start to decay, and we even find some irritating and toxic ingredients.
Although it could have been a good cream, the inclusion of these ingredients suggests the combined effect, and want to reject the cream.
Alternative
If you don’t want to gamble with a cream, I recommend the one I’m using right now, Nezeni Cosmetics antiage , with ingredients that prevent and act against wrinkles already present; but without the harmful ingredients we don’t want.
