Lancaster Eye Contour is advertised as a perfected and texturizing product, which I am looking forward to reviewing after reading the good reviews it has received from users.
In a cream we must not only find that (apparently) it works, but also that its ingredients are not harmful to our skin, both in the short and long term.
And since I see that the care of the eye contour is a topic that interests you, I recommend that you read this other article with a complete analysis of the Best Eye Contours on the market .
We now go to the analysis of the Lancaster contour.

- Glycerin : Tested in ClarinsMen’s anti-wrinkle cream .
- Nylon-12 : Tested in the Anti-wrinkle cream powder flowers .
- Polyacrylamide : Analyzed in the Nezeni Cosmetics Intensive Antiage eye contour .

- Acrylates / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer : Tested in Shiseido Men’s Anti-Wrinkle Cream .
- Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract: Horse chestnut seed extract, which contains saponins, collectively known as “aescin,” which have a mild soapy feel and are powerful anti-inflammatory compounds. Saponins also reduce capillary fragility and thus help prevent fluid leakage into surrounding tissues, which can cause inflammation. Horse chestnut extract has been shown to have one of the highest active oxygen scavenging capabilities of 65 different plant extracts. Such extracts are more powerful antioxidants than vitamin E, and they also have powerful cell-protective effects, which are related to the known anti-aging properties of antioxidants. The extract is also rich in a number of flavonoids, such as those derived from quercetin and caempferol.
- Alcohol : Tested in Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Contour .
- Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract : Pineapple extract. It contains some antioxidant and skin soothing properties, especially the enzyme bromelain it contains.
- Angelica Archangelica Root Extract : Extract from the root of the Angelica plant. It contains antioxidants, vitamins, valeric acid, volatile oils, and many other nutrients that are useful for treating various skin conditions.
- Ascorbic Acid: Vitamin C. In addition to its antioxidant qualities and its role in strengthening the immune system, it synthesizes collagen. Vitamin C has been shown to help protect and repair skin cells. The nutrient not only removes free radicals, it can also remove DNA damage that forms radicals. The visible benefits of this super vitamin are the reduction of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, protection against photoaging and stimulation of collagen. L-ascorbic acid is vitamin C in its purest form. It is generally found in concentrations of 5-25%, although it is debatable which is the best concentration for absorption. While some say that a 10% concentration increases collagen synthesis, others say that the optimal amount is 20%, and others claim that nothing over 18% can be absorbed. Also important for the effectiveness of ascorbic acid is its pH level. The lower the pH level, the more stable, permeable and therefore effective it is. When its pH level is too high, it oxidizes, degrades, and becomes inactive. Unfortunately, the ideal and potent formula (high concentration, low pH) tends to irritate the skin.
- Ascorbyl Palmitate : Analizado en la cream antiarrugas Powder Flowers .
- Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract : Bamboo stem extract. Rich in minerals and proteins, it is used as an emollient and moisturizer and can restore elasticity and flexibility to the skin.
- BHT : Tested in Shiseido Men’s Anti-Wrinkle Cream .
- Bisabolol : Works as a skin conditioning agent. Improves the appearance of dehydrated or damaged skin by reducing dry flaking and restoring skin flexibility. Due to its high concentration of panthenol, it can stimulate the skin’s healing process and stimulate healthy hair growth. It also increases the penetration of other cosmetic ingredients into the skin. In addition to its soothing and healing properties, it also gives off a subtle floral scent that is used to add fragrance to cosmetic products.
- C13-14 Isoparaffin : Analyzed in the Nezeni Cosmetics Intensive Antiage eye contour .
- Caffeine : Analyzed in ClarinsMen’s Anti-Wrinkle Cream .
- Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract : Tested in ClarinsMen’s anti-wrinkle cream .
- Caprylyl Glycol : Analyzed in the Nezeni Cosmetics Intensive Antiage Eye Contour .
- Citric Acid : Analyzed in the Powder Flowers anti-wrinkle cream .
- Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Peel Extract : Bitter orange peel extract. It is considered antiseptic, antibacterial and fungicidal. It works against inflammation and revitalizes the skin. Caution with the sun is recommended, because it can cause spots on the skin.
- Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract : Coffee seed extract. Its high concentration of essential fatty acids, sterols and vitamin E make it a powerful antioxidant that can offer protection against skin damage, such as the formation of sunburned cells and DNA degradation. It can also help prevent the development of photoaging and skin inflammation.
- Ethylhexylglycerin : Analyzed in Nezeni Cosmetics anti-wrinkle cream .
- Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Extract : Eucalyptus leaf extract. The antibacterial properties of eucalyptus make it perfect for protecting skin health. However, it is important to note that the extract is quite strong and can cause irritation.
- Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract: Extract of ginkgo leaves. It provides many antioxidant benefits thanks to its high levels of quercetin, a powerful antioxidant. Its anti-inflammatory and defensive properties are also interesting, and it has been found to help treat acne, eczema, or other types of facial redness and inflammation. This may be due to the properties of Ginkgo as a vasodilator, increasing circulation, improving sebaceous secretions, reducing capillary hyperpermeability, improving tissue irrigation and activating cell metabolism. Gingko helps prevent capillary fragility and helps stimulate collagen formation and create fibroblasts. A study conducted in 2003 also suggested that ginkgo could effectively stop depigmentation and also aid in repigmentation.
- Glucose : Monosaccharide (simple sugar) that has moisturizing properties and therefore can lead to smooth and firm skin.
- Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride : It is a water soluble derivative of natural guar gum, and provides conditioning properties to shampoos and hair care products after shampooing.
- Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water : Works as a skin conditioning, astringent and anti-inflammatory agent. Improves the appearance of dry, damaged or bruised skin, and helps reduce flaking, inflammation and restores flexibility to the skin.
- Hydroxyethylcellulose : Analyzed in Nezeni Cosmetics contour .
- Isopropyl Alcohol : Isopropyl alcohol is used to dissolve other substances and help other ingredients penetrate the skin. It is also used to reduce the thickness of liquids and reduce the tendency of finished products to foam when shaken. However, this alcohol can cause dryness, irritation and breakouts, as it deteriorates the protective barrier of the skin, which means that the skin can no longer retain moisture.
- Lactic Acid : Alphahydroxy acid (AHA) extracted from milk, although most forms used in cosmetics are synthetic because it is easier to formulate and stabilize. It has moisturizing and exfoliating properties, and helps to lighten uneven skin tone. Lactic acid can cause sensitivity, although this is not common and can be minimized if the formulation contains soothing ingredients.
- Laureth-7 : Analyzed in Nezeni Cosmetics contour .
- Lecithin : Analyzed in the Fiori di Cipria anti-wrinkle cream for men .
- Magnesium Aluminum Silicate : Natural mineral derived from refined and purified clay that is used primarily as a thickener. Aluminum Magnesium Silicate has unusually large molecules; and because of this it cannot be absorbed through the skin. It only has to be used in limited concentrations as it contains aluminum compounds, a known neurotoxin.
- Maltodextrin : It is a polysaccharide and carbohydrate derived from rice, corn or potato starch. It is used in cosmetics and beauty products due to its ability to bind other compounds and stabilize formulas. It also serves as a film former and suspending agent. In a patent filed by Unilever in 2002, maltodextrin was noted to be effective as an anti-aging ingredient as well as an anti-irritant. Although maltodextrin is not an anti-aging compound by itself, it increases the anti-aging activity of weak acids and reduces skin irritation.
- PEG-8 : Tested in Clinique for Men wrinkle cream .
- Pimpinella Anisum (Anise) Seed Extract : Anise seed extract. It has antioxidant and astringent properties, thanks to the phenol of its components. Helps protect the skin by neutralizing free radicals present in the environment.
- Pongamia Pinnata Seed Extract : Extract from karanja seeds. In skin care it is used to treat eczema, psoriasis, dandruff and promotes wound healing. It also has antibacterial properties.
- Propylene Glycol : Tested in the L’Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Contour .
- Saccharide Hydrolysate : Invert sugar; product of the hydrolysis of sucrose. It is mainly made up of glucose and fructose. It is used primarily as a moisturizer.
- Sclerotium Gum : Analyzed in Decléor’s Harmonie Calm contour .
- Silica : Analyzed in L’Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 anti-wrinkle cream .
- Sodium Acetate : The sodium salt derived from acetic acid, which serves as a buffering agent when used in small amounts.
- Sodium Citrate : Analyzed in L’Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 anti-wrinkle cream .
- Sodium Potassium Aluminum Silicate: Complex aluminum, potassium and sodium silicate, used as an opacifying agent.
- Tocopherol : Analyzed in ClarinsMen’s wrinkle cream as Tocopherol Acetate.
- Triethanolamine : Tested in L’Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 anti-wrinkle cream .
- Xanthan Gum : Analyzed in L’Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 anti-wrinkle cream .
- Chlorphenesin : Tested in L’Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift 5 anti-wrinkle cream .
- Phenoxyethanol : Analyzed in ClarinsMen’s anti-wrinkle cream .
- Potassium Sorbate : Analyzed in ClarinsMen’s anti-wrinkle cream .
- Salicylic Acid : Salicylic acid is a salicin. It is considered to have anti-inflammatory properties similar to aspirin, and it acts as a keratolytic by exfoliating the skin. It is considered especially effective due to its ability to penetrate the follicle, clearing the pores of debris at a deeper level, reducing clogging and breakouts. It also has antimicrobial properties, it can improve skin thickness, barrier functions, and collagen production. Although salicylic acid is a safe ingredient, there are three concerns regarding its use: increased sensitivity to the sun, skin irritation, and toxicity to reproduction and development.
- Sodium Benzoate : Analyzed in Nuxellence contour from Nuxe .
- Sorbic Acid : Sorbic acid is traditionally used as a preservative for foods and wines due to its ability to prevent spoilage caused by yeast, fungus, and mold. Sorbic acid is considered a moderately hazardous ingredient, with concerns regarding cancer, allergic reactions, toxicity, and irritation. However, in concentrations up to 10% they are not irritating to the skin or eyes.
- Parfum / Fragrance .
- Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) : Tested on Nuxellence contour from Nuxe .
Lancaster Skin Therapy Analysis Summary
Up to 57 ingredients includes this 15ml Lancaster Contour. It has up to 23 preservatives and ingredients that do not add anything to the skin, but to the cream itself (solvents, dyes, alcohols, thickeners, etc.).
I do not like at all that the first ingredient is a silicone, it could have been used to put an active principle. Except for the silicones that are in the upper part, the alcohols and some irritating ingredients, it contains a large amount of active principles, moisturizing ingredients, as well as plant extracts that offer beneficial properties for the skin, in addition to having antioxidant power.
However, it has such a number of ingredients that the proportion of each of them is negligible, both for the good and for the bad. I have already mentioned that the fewer ingredients a formula has, the better.
And something that worries me is the combination of Sodium Benzoate and vitamin C, if you have read the analysis you will have discovered that Sodium Benzoate is harmless, but if it is found in formulas with vitamin C, it can create benzene, a recognized carcinogen. I honestly don’t want to risk it.
Alternative
Undoubtedly, a better alternative is the Nezeni Cosmetics contour, a formula with much fewer ingredients, and a good amount of active ingredients with which you will notice the results quickly. I explain everything to you in the article Best Eye Contours .
