As you can see from the INCI, this formula has vitamins C and E, that’s it.
Medik8 CE-Tetra uses 7% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, a powerful, mild and non-irritating form of vitamin C. In addition to fighting free radicals, this vitamin stimulates the skin to produce natural moisturizers, glycosaminoglycans, which allow the skin absorb moisture from the body itself.
In addition, it provides five times greater penetration into keratinocytes, and five times greater collagen production than ascorbic acid.
Vitamin E, for its part, works to repair skin damaged by the sun and hyperpigmentation, leaving a fresh and rejuvenated complexion.
Instead of water, it is based on jojoba oil that penetrates the skin very well and does not leave a greasy feeling.
The silicones (in my case unwanted) give the serum an additional gliding and a merely superficial silkiness. They could definitely have been omitted, and even more so when one of them is irritating to the skin and eyes.
Alternative
I have found derivatives of vitamin C in other formulas that contained more active ingredients, such as Nezeni Cosmetics. And although more does not always mean better, in this case it does, since it provides a solution to other aging problems, such as wrinkles and lack of hydration.
In addition, it does not have silicones or parabens, which for my taste is a success. Also, limit preservatives to a minimum to avoid the combined effect of cosmetics and avoid long-term health problems.
